Unfortunately, especially in major cities it seems like one has to be very careful about wearing certain highly desired watches in public on an exposed wrist.
Examples in Rolex are any sport watch with a ceramic bezel, eg GMT and Sub, any Daytona, a colored Gold Day-Date, etc. I am wondering if one should be concerned wearing a more entry level watch that does not have a ceramic bezel, eg Air King (which I am think of buying), Datejust, Oyster Perpetual or Explorer I. One of the main reasons I am interested in buying a watch in this category, in addition to just liking them, is my hope that these watches are not a target of thieves. I have no idea if this is true or not. So I am wondering if you have any thoughts, personal experiences or have read about these watches being targets or that perhaps they are not targets. A Rolex is a Rolex...entry level or not...you will still be targeted if thieves are hungry.
In some parts of Europe its hard to insure a watch and even if its insured whats the point if your on the ground with a knife in your chest 😬
Headlines aren’t written about the huge number of people wearing Rolexes not being robbed.

Box and Papers Needs to become standard for resale.
I personally would never buy a watch just because it might be less attractive to thieves.
I try to avoid Rolex and Patek sports watches in places I don’t feel safe.
