Teardrops of pleasure - and an unexpected surprise -

I mostly have been quite reluctant to post pics, in view of so many great

contributions here – in a way more reader and very happy to comment, (not quite

„lurker“, but not yet in the position to adeqautely share).

Nevertheless, this time , I will give it a humble try:

Why? – Well , I thought , no felt, you might like this – even more in this time of increasing excitement about new editions

– a little look back, also at a time when LGM appears to re-discover and redefine further classical paths :

By sheer coincidence, more stumbling on it, than looking, first could not believe it:

- this round one crossed my path, in fact a TDM, from mid 40ies ( according to my infos meanwhile, between 1943-45, I believe).

- case so much ok, and IMHO those famous , absolutely beautiful teardrop lugs ,

a shape I have started to appreciate in admiration (thanks to several of you..)

And as I realize, many of you will have seen this or similiar ; in addition we had this little recent post about TD Moon (and date positions) by Imran, I think.

- As mentioned by several, I enjoy this fine position of day and month, which is , how to say – „non-obstructive“ and appropriate, IMO.

It is a triple date ( calendrier), ss case/RG indices and hands, French indications for date/ month ( which I like) , beautiful round second at 6 with a blued hand, the

lovely red date around with „amor’s“ arrow ( citation ref: Blomman).

- When the sun or light falls on it, the triangular applied indices modestly reflect it, play with it – enjoyable..

Movement is JLC 464 A – Initially I even did not have enough infos, no Ref. infos; kindly our friend Blomman later pointed me to his post in summer 2010 ( which I had not seen before). – It is in fact the same movement as shown by him, which is a very nice one , IMO. And then I learned about the incredible examples shared by Clavi – Could it be true ? – Luck for the vintage novice ?

What else ?

It fits my rather small wrist, diameter small (36mm), elegant but appropriate, very ..

Funny chain of events initially , and I did not have a lot of time : just looked at it, really loved it at first sight ( had a nice talk with the seller at a nice cup of good coffee) and "jumped on it", totally against my attitude)

– and really happy I am ..

So BEAUTIFUL, proportions, the combination steel/ RG for me so far quite unusual up to now, but attractive I feel and somehow - what shall I say - elegantly "low key" – Oh yes – and those magnificent teardrops, I simply like to look at those over and over again ..

- Right choice: don't know, but it so absolutely complemented my recent intentions, my rising attention to vintages; this including the interest for the great Tribute

initiatives, and my beloved second JLC, a classical Master Moon from the 90ies, so I simply could not resist.

- I love to look at it - symbol of a time long gone, pretty far back, but still with a quite refined appeal, timeless for me ..

I just thought, I share this find with you, even before I have reflected more on it and subjected it to peer opinions. –

Hope you don't mind, even if you might have seen it repeatedly, or also in case you might own one..

- And also that you might like it a bit ..

- Have a good start into the Easter week soon, also !

Best, hs
