Spotted: DUBs, V-Dubs & Darts

DUBs (a brand of wheel which has become almost a generic term for ridiculously-large rims on a sedan)

I know it's insane but I think I want one of these cars ...

No trouble with "sleeping policemen"

Handling might suffer a bit though, and trunk space if you carry a spare

V-Dubs

Switching gears, we found a couple vehicles on either side of the street - this nice Chevy pickup (not a single straight panel, though)

And straight across, I was thrilled to see a Lincoln Town Car Congressional Town Sedan.

which was looking pretty darn good, considering its age and non-discreet color. Perhaps suitable for some of our newly-elected politicians?

These two were lurking in a dark garage under a big, home-made driveway cover

Speaking of home-made, has anyone ever seen dualie wheels on a long wheelbase Jeep? I haven't

This appears to be a 1967 Charger. I haven't seen one for so long I mistook it for a AMC Marlin at first

A nice Jeepster Wagon in the driveway too.

This looks like a home paint job, to match the

vehicle next door - an Escalade parked on the front lawn (teaching them early)

Wanna-be DUB-mobile

Somewhat sporty Mustang, with a 351 V8 according to the hood badge

SCOBOZA?

What?

No doubt the same owner - black Corvette and red/black Polaris trike

A Valiant, for Art.

Then a newer one, as well

Finally, ending our run of Mopars with an ever-so-rare Dodge Dart Wagon. Of about 600,000 1963-66 Darts, less than 48,000 were wagons. And surprisingly, when I looked this stuff up, I learned that Darts, as the "Senior" Mopar compact vehicle, were built on a 5 inch longer wheelbase than Valiants were, to give the Dart a greater back seat legroom. HOWEVER, Dart Wagons were all built on the shorter Valiant platform. Does that make any sense? Not to me either.

Look how short the rear door is ...

A Pontiac Trans Am

Early Ford Bronco composed of lotsa bitsa; around 1970

And the sweetest Ford Ranchero I have seen in all our spotting trips.

Tastefully pinstriped, too.

To complete the day, my wife found another sidewalk library and had a quick shop...

Thanks for viewing.
