So much charm

I had the great pleasure of meeting couple of the founders from Atelier de Chronometrie, and admiring their pieces in person for the first time yesterday.

ADC#4 has been on my wish list since its release. Putting it on my wrist vindicates my love at first sight. The watch has a breathtakingly beautiful enamel dial that shows the earth and space which was locally made, combined with a romantic complication that rotates the dial periodically.

The movement used in the piece is a reworked old Omega caliber with substantial finishing. It can be Chronometer certified. The Omega movement was picked because it's relatively easy to find parts for future repairs which in turn would enhance its longevity. I was also told that ADC is gradually going to make more parts on their own. They're very transparent about their involvement in the watch.

What ADC offers is essentially a bespoke service. They provide some recommendations, and the client chooses the execution from dial, case material, to even the choice of movement and it's finish.

The founders also brought along ADC#2. A sweeping seconds hand piece. It feels very elegant on wrist. It looks much better in person than in pictures as they always are with these hand-made pieces.

A big thank you to Santi and Montse for their time. They're genuine, passionate people who are making watches that have souls.
