Omega

Anyone else into this kind of stuff ...

So I had a lucky (and a bargain too IMO) find at a local vintage market.  A stunning (maybe 50's or 60's) glass Omega dealers shop sign.

It is about 14 inches by 6 inches by 6 inches of very heavy construction with a stand at the back to hold it upright..  Here is a front on shot:

The "M" in OMEGA is slightly off in justification and it has one or two tiny chips in the glass but is in surprisingly good condition for it's age.  It has these nice little features like Omega logos on the bolt heads:

So finding this sign made me wonder if other vintage watch enthusiasts also get satisfaction from associated paraphernalia.  Without really trying I have accumulated a modest collection (I'm sure there are plenty here on PuristS with more impressive stuff) of Omega related items.

For example; Imai-san's excellent "Time capsule" book, John Goldberger's well illustrated "Omega Sports Watches", a service travel case, the Omega pen was a gift from a friend and I have two of these great dealer fold out display mats.

And to finish off I tried to take a SOTC shot with all of this gear but is really hard to get all that in focus with an 18 month old screaming and demanding your attention:

Maybe when my son is of an age where he doesn't smash anything value left out I'll actually be able to put it on display somewhere in the house.  Until then I'll just keep it safe.

If anyone knows the approximate age of the dealer sign please let me know.  And if anyone has similar swag they are fond of I'd love to see it.  Thanks for looking and regards,

Zac
