Omega de Ville professional chrono
Hi
I bought this watch new in 1996, and since buyng it, I only ever saw 1 other in steel in a retailers window. And I only found one write-up about the watch in International wristwatch Number 25 (USA Edition), page 46 (but this one is in yellow gold).
So, I know a little about it, it uses cal 861/1, but what intrigues me is that I don't see it anywhere on the web when I search for it. So, please can you help with any threads with it in, or if you own one too, or even if you just know more anout it. I'm probably searching for the wrong name?
Grateful for your input and comments. I adore this Omega, and it was what I consider to be my very first purchase of a 'quality; watch... when I mark the beginning of my watch collecting 'career' if you like. So it also holds a special place in my collection.
So, here are some photos of my first (she took my cherry!)
I've has it now for 15 years (I've known my wife less time!) and could do with a service and a new strap, but the case and dial are as I bought them.
Hope you like (as I don't think it pops up very often?)
Gary

Not a model I saw before, but like it! And, I appreciate your thinking about my watch not being 'one in the normal lines'.. That is in itself interesting to hear. I would be intrigued as to how many were made.. As I have the impression it didn't sell well...
I saw one last week ....

Being offered on our Sunday market. I didn't paid too much attention, even after the seller stating that it was "powered' by an 861 movement because of the "snap in" case back (I don't like this type of case back. Let's see if it still on sale this weeken...
