Sad tale there Graham.
But on the plus side you live in a house with a cellar. A rare thing in my part of the world. I grew up in an old Victorian era house with a beautiful old cellar but modern houses in Australia just don't have that sort of thing. My current place is a art Deco 1930's house and we have what passes for a cellar but it is really just under floor storage. Nice and cool and perfect for keeping wine though, so I should not complain.

So I had a lucky (and a bargain too IMO) find at a local vintage market. A stunning (maybe 50's or 60's) glass Omega dealers shop sign. It is about 14 inches by 6 inches by 6 inches of very heavy construction with a stand at the back to hold it upright.. ...
