Run out models 2019
A lot of rumours are flying around since a couple of days on this topic. A pretty reliable source is @patekaholic on IG who took a list on his IG story which has mentioned 5168G, 5968A, 5235G and some more as running out models.
My dealer has confirmed on the three aforementioned references and has named some more like 5296, 5396 and 5320.
The biggest surprise for me was the 5968A which had been introduced only last year. What do you guys think? Will there be a 5968 in a precious metal like G or R at Basel 2019?

at 40k euros retail, it opens up plenty of other options (even within PP) which offer a much better value prop. ! Best, mahesh.,

I was hoping for one more year of decision time.. I'm also guessing that 5905P will be discontinued, and I'm torn between them. I guess you are in the 5170 camp? But concave bezel and 60 min chronograph counter is a strong argument in favor of 5905.., Tho...
The whole thing is rigged
Patek does not sell watches without having the buyers’ full details on the certificate before even sending the watch. How is it that no 5968A is available through the ADs but are quite a few sold by the other dealers for more than double the retail price?...
Where is the fun..?
In my opinion opportunity is generally a positive quality. But where is the fun in selling a special watch for profit without having had the pleasure of owning it? If the pleasure is in the profit, then it is not in the watches.
Calatrava!
Something big is coming in the Calatrava lineup it seems. Also maybe a new manual chronograph or a 5170/1A?

personally was wondering when the 5146 and 5396 were going to be made redundant with with 5205 series being plenty for a simple annual calendar series.... updates in Calatrava will be interesting to see, especially replacements to 5296 and 5153 references...

Based on the run out list, my first guess would be for some larger case references (40mm) for the Calatrava, a new manual chronograph or either a 5170/1A or 5170/1P without any diamonds and a 5235R with new dial and hands. The Nautilus line is more diffic...

That the 5980 is still there... would have thought the R and AR would be gone by now... Hope the new Calatrava is not as experimental as code 11.59...

Imagine also a salmon dial 5170/1A. I am going right now to my AD to pre order one, so if this theoretical watch happens, I would have already ordered one. Right?
The 5168 if discontinued is disappointing.
It seemed so well received. Not to mention, how many did they make? 15? Making it a few more years would not make it any less exclusive IMHO.

Good observation, that’s also the main minus I see, though honestly it’s not as relevant to me in a watch whose strong emphasis is admittedly on the aesthetics.
And don’t forget that, especially with the recent hype around sports watches, a different movement would have considerably moved up the ‘price point’ of the 5968 or any other Aquanaut. Looking forward to seeing an R version too —- I promised this version ...

Yep my friend, the lists that have been circulated these days (see e.g. Cayenne's above) are complete, I'm afraid the 5131P will stay.
Of course, this doesn't mean the 5231 won't start production this year in a different metal ;-)

I'm not sure how it works, but it might easily be that all the enamel dials have been produced, so the total number of 5131P might already be known (at least to Patek).
I would reasonably expect the final production of the 5131P to be around that of the R, hence you are right that we shouldn't see as much distribution in the coming year. No doubt it will remain rather rare and very difficult to get for collectors. And I'...
