Run out models 2019
A lot of rumours are flying around since a couple of days on this topic. A pretty reliable source is @patekaholic on IG who took a list on his IG story which has mentioned 5168G, 5968A, 5235G and some more as running out models.
My dealer has confirmed on the three aforementioned references and has named some more like 5296, 5396 and 5320.
The biggest surprise for me was the 5968A which had been introduced only last year. What do you guys think? Will there be a 5968 in a precious metal like G or R at Basel 2019?

my feel a overlap in the 5968A pricing...
at 40k euros retail, it opens up plenty of other options (even within PP) which offer a much better value prop. !

that the 5170P will be discontinued. My source is not Thierry but someone very important at Patek

But concave bezel and 60 min chronograph counter is a strong argument in favor of 5905..,

Note that Patekaholic posted a second and updated list what is been discontinued and 5968A,5168G and 5960G were not in the second list .He did also mention that these lists were not confirmed [nt]

The whole thing is rigged
Patek does not sell watches without having the buyers’ full details on the certificate before even sending the watch. How is it that no 5968A is available through the ADs but are quite a few sold by the other dealers for more than double the retail price? Either PP or the AD has something to do with it. This kind of “rumour” probably generated by the dealers only fuels the irrational price increase.
I think it’s the collectors that get the allocation that are flipping to the grey market dealers. [nt]

I fear, you´re right. Too many people just wanna make easy money. I personally know someone who has got a Nautilus 5740 in Germany and sold it in a flash for almost 200 k €. [nt]

In my opinion opportunity is generally a positive quality. But where is the fun in selling a special watch for profit without having had the pleasure of owning it? If the pleasure is in the profit, then it is not in the watches.

Great! Is this the whole list? Luckily the 5968 is not gone, but interesting that no Aquanaut is being discontinued...
Quite a few Calatravas are going, most noticeably perhaps the 5119 and 5296. It's also interesting (to me) that my 5396R-011 continues to stay, while all other more recent dial iterations are already leaving.
I'll look more closely tonight, but still assuming this is the whole thing, I think I'm most surprised that the 5131 line is not being entirely discontinued, given the high likelihood of the new 5231 ;-)

finally some spring cleaning in the collection... ;)
personally was wondering when the 5146 and 5396 were going to be made redundant with with 5205 series being plenty for a simple annual calendar series.... updates in Calatrava will be interesting to see, especially replacements to 5296 and 5153 references...
In terms of the 5726 I am sure we will see a new Nautilus reference filling the void, perhaps the steel annual calendar will be replaced with a steel perpetual....! that would be something...! some probability we will get a gold 5726 added... Surely something new for ladies in Nautilus coming as well... hope the new 24 line is not thought of as a replacement to there....
Very curious to see what will replace the 5170.... perhaps one more iteration of the 5170 in another metal or perhaps a new manual chronograph reference. This is pretty exciting...
