Romanian Safari
This is a safari of the less conventional kind. You cannot expect wildebeest to roam majestically across the Romanian plains, at the same time there is a lot more wildlife present than expected, and sometimes in pretty interesting varieties. Just a short coverage of some local wildlife...
Coming relatively close to something one could imagine in a safari, the stripeless Zebra
Some more wild horse (although something tells me someone already claimed these two)...
Another pair from the same species. When one moves from the mountains to the plains, the temperature shoots up to the high 30s (Celsius), explaining why one is having a lie down.

Pygmy polar bear from the Fagaras Mountains. While smaller, it is certainly no less fierce - something not to be baited if the safari is undertaken on foot, as opposed to from the confines of a closed vehicle.

Dogs (wild or otherwise) are plentiful, in various states of build and aggression. And as usually, 'they just want to play'

Finally, some mountain buffalo, or is it bison?

As you can see, I would possibly not do so well in casting as a David Attenborough follow-up, or as a zoologist, either

Still, the wildlife is an intriguing part of travelling through Romania, so hope you enjoyed this!
