Beautiful day for a walk, Part 1
Skies are clear,

water is blue, air is still

but everywhere you turn there is a hill

no fast striders around here, it's all work!

Contrary to lots of modern areas, even the postman has to walk around here.
No wonder alternative forms of transport were invented for California's challenging topography.
DANGER: Lithium batteries.

Depending on your budget, the transportation choices can vary

I like this kind myself...
but this morning we went walking in the native plant garden:

It was nicely quiet except for the constant chirping and clicking of birds who mostly stayed out of sight but not earshot.

My wife selected some seeds for our wild kingdom, while I went hunting for critters.

I found one and by taking about a dozen pictures was able to get 3 clear photos tracking him across his aerial highway

Those long Torrey Pines needles made it hard to focus on the squirrel

Giving up on him, I found more long needles; caution is always required in our canyons and open spaces.

Beauty between the thorns

A tiny wasp was industriously digging in the pathway. Not a good place for a long-term residence.

I saw at least a dozen squirrels, lizards and other scurrying creatures but only captured a few on camera. Sorry, I'm slow today.
