The two pictures of single dogs were taken next to a restaurant on the Transalpina (both eating / guarding some bread they were given). They are only semi domestic, so extreme caution is advised. As there are still bigger predators around, the sheepdogs definitely mean business 
To bad our passage through Macedonia a year earlier did not allow for a detour to Sarplanina - a mountain famous for very fierce (and beautiful) sheepdogs. In the old days they were also used by the army and export was banned till the early 1980s...
