Panerai Calibre OP I
I had to open up my Pam 2BT recently for some research work and was quite impressed with its ETA 6497 movement and decided to take some pix of it.
Panerai seldom (or never) brags too much of its stuff inside the case and the only time I had the chance to see one was with my 36BT see through crystal spotting its OP II movement, which to be honest didn't really impress me either.
So back to the Pam 2, spotting the trusty 6497-2, hard to photograph but I spotted some other letters/numbers on top of it. Anyone knows what that means?

Panerai has always been an...assembler..
not a movement's manufacturer. It's natural they wouldn't "focus" on the movements their model house, ain't it? Now that Richemont DO make the stuff, the "visual" has improved dramatically and they can "brag" a bit, too :-) As for the...additional...numbe...
