Not a happy Rolex camper today...
For a while now, I've been hunting for a DateJust 116234 with steel/WG jubilee bracelet, fluted bezel, and black/silver tuxedo dial. I found a NOS one still under warranty at a reasonable price and it was delivered earlier this week. Unfortunately, through a series of errors, it was sent to a non-existent address down the street from me, with only $500 insurance, and STOLEN within a hour of being dropped off by UPS. I've been living in the same home for almost 20 years and never had package stolen. Maybe the police will be able to track it down...
Additionally, I recently got my Kermit back from the Rolex Service Center and a link pin just fell out. Fortunately, I caught the watch before any damage was down. This was the second $1K service for my Kermit because the local, Rolex-trained watchmaker never got it right after two attempts and I didn't want to give him a 3rd shot.
I've been wearing my Zenith Rainbown Flyback this weekend, as I don't want to risk my GMT Master IIc now...

The risk of fraud is too high with online transactions that a secured transaction is essential.

UPS must have some responsibility if they delivered it to a non-existent address
Usually, they mark the package as undeliverable, flag it as an exception and hold the package until it can be sorted. This actually happened to me once when an ebay seller from Europe didn't put my street address on the package, just my name, city and zip...

My brother, who lives in a different state than me and the seller, gave the seller the wrong address. That was mistake #1. By not having correct insurance, the package was not given extra care (e.g. secure locker, UPS driver sign-out). That was mistake #2...
