Need your take on ...

So a very good customer of mine, who became a friend due to our passion for watches, bought a Daytona that he called a “Paul Newman”. I don’t consider myself being an expert in vintage Rolex but would still expect him to at least give me a call or text me his possible purchases but hey...
He bought it from someone he knew, who told him it was a daytona worth at least £1xxk. He tried to sell it for £40, then they agreed on a lower price than that.

After the deal was done, my friend texted me this picture.

From what I can see without even digging thte intrawebs the pushers are a bit weird looking, the bezel is wrong. And the dial looks a bit off too.

Now question...

Am I right thinking this is a bit of a franken watch?

And do I tell ny friend that?

That is the only picture I got so far. Watch in question is on the left. One on the right is my friends’
