So a very good customer of mine, who became a friend due to our passion for watches, bought a Daytona that he called a “Paul Newman”. I don’t consider myself being an expert in vintage Rolex but would still expect him to at least give me a call or text me...

At best it is a franken-watch, at worst an all out fake.

Dial. Bezel. Pushers. Location of pushers (could indicate wrong movement) The seller let it fo for 1/3 of market value. But judging a watch without seeing it in person is risky business.

Especially super red “Daytona” as if it was a brand new watch... Now question is how to break it to the friend...
