My last watch purchase...
Hello!!
I wish to share my last purchase with my friends at Purists. The last purchase of this year 2013, I mean.
It took me more than a month to arrive to a good deal with the previous owner of this Zenith Daytona from 1995. He was really a tough guy!
I already have a white dial 116520, but I fell in love with its black dial with those browinish subdial rings. I love these modern Daytonas, though I must admit they don´t have the charm of vintage series. But it is a beautiful timepiece and a very accurate one!
The watch was a daily beater for his original owner, so it got many tinty scratches and some dings, but otherwise it is perfect. I´m presently giving it a hand polishing treatment with much patience and a beautiful polish cream I use for delicate objects. It has given great results to remove hairline scratches and not very deep dings. It only takes a lot of time and elbow grease!
The movement works beautifuly, but I feel I´m going to send it to my friendly watchmaker for a revision and oiling.
I felt it was a nice way to end this 2013 with this new to me Daytona! I wish you´ll like it!!
