Missing luminescent marker

 

Bought my first Chopard watch today from an authorized dealer here in Chicago.  I bought the Chopard GTXL Chrono and absolutely love it.  When I got home tonight I was obviously curious to see what the luminescent markers looked like so I took the watch into a dark room.  They really are very bright and look great but I noticed that the little marker at 11 did not work.  Every other marker, number (i.e. 12 and 6) and hands appeared fine.  But the marker at 11 was completely dead.  Has anyone ever heard of something like that with a Chopard watch?  I'm obviously going to take it back to the store tomorrow but I'm afraid they are going to tell me they have to mail it back to Chopard to get fixed rather than exchange it for a new one (if they even have another one in stock).  Sucks when you buy a brand new watch and then have to go a few weeks without it while it's being serviced.  Very strange and a real disappointment.  Other than that, beautiful watch and very happy.

Hi Mdkrebs11 Welcome to our Chopard forum....and normally I will congrats for the new watch too. Which GTXL Chrono you bought? The beautiful slate 2007 series? I've experience with other watches before...a good reminder ,now if I'm buying any Superluminov...

Here is a photo of the bad lume and a photo lit up. The lume shot is not the clearest but you can definitely see that the mark at 11 is not lit up. Love the watch but pissed off about bad lume at 11. Surprised something like this could happen with what is...  

Very interesting. Never seen this on any watch from any brand before

Guess I have to add it to my list of usual things to test on a new watch whenever I pick it up from a store: 1) make sure hour and minute hands line up at 12 o'clock 2) winds properly 3) date change works 4) no dents on case and scratches on sapphire crys... 

Great checklist, I will add ...

Took the watch back to the AD today. They said they have never seen that happen before on any brand and could not possibly understand how it got through QC. They called their other store to see if they had another one in stock to do an exchange but they d...
