Anthony, thanks for the checklist.
For me, I do all per your 'due-diligence' list
and add :
1. All quadrant, ensure hands aligned....12,3,6 & 9o'clock (as you may find weird, aligned at 12 o'clock but may not the rest of the quadrants)
2. For date change, will try both the 'quick set' & the normal daily-switch(at 0:00 )
3. With 3X loupe for cosmetic - dings/scratches/abnomalities on crystal, case, indices, hands, dial, crown, lug-joints, buckle and then caseback (solid or see through). Repeat for the movement side- take a look at the workmanship and any abnormalities.
4. Confirm the buckle is of similar material per spec/casing. If it is of precious metal, ensure the hallmark is stamped on.
