PEACOCK CHINESE TOURBILLON

Definitely not everyone’s cup of tea. Chinese watch, big hole in the dial. It checked 2 boxes for me. It looks exactly like an Alpine Eagle which I love and I wanted a tourbillon at least once. I did not do an exhaustive search but I do not believe there are many watches with tourbillons on the back that are relatively inexpensive.

Per their website the dial is hand guilloche. They have a man named Wei Sheng with a background in applied physics who invented his own hand operated engraving machine. There is a video of the engraving being done. The movement is manual wind, fits the 40mm case nicely, and is nicely decorated with Geneva stripes and circular graining on the gears. There is perlage on the plate under the tourbillon, and some nice decoration on the inside of the clasp. My movement pictures stink so I am showing a pic from their website also.

It is only 10mm thick, wears very comfortably and feels pretty well made. I am providing a few pictures from the Chopard website that show how closely alike these watches look. For those who hate the hole in the dial there is a 38.5mm model with the same guilloche, time only.
Thanks for looking.
