I cannot resist a watch with this case ...
Weeks back I was offered a GP chronograph "Vintage 1960".
The watch was used and somehow abused by the previous owner but I simple cannot resist a "Carrée Classique Elegance" case shape.
Add to that the lack of date (Yes, I was contaminated by the "no date is great" campaign from Nicolas).
Since the watch was abused, I got a nice deal, trusting on my watchmaker "magic".
Here are the steps to return the "Vintage 1960" to its former glory (I oversimplified the pictures - I have 80+ pics of the "magic").
First, the end result. Lovely:
Now as I sent it to the SPA. For sure the previous owner was not very careful with his watch. Scratches and dings galore.
The movement was not in bad shape but dry as a bone:

After being fully disassembled, cleaned and perfectly oiled, here are the two main parts: Chronograph module and watch module (DD and ETA):

Timed and adjusted:

Ready to go:
Now, with me. I love (again) this shape:

Looks great (IMHO) on any angle:

Colorful and nice.

I'm very happy with the result. Not an expensive watch but very nice on my wrist.
Cheers,
Nilo
