Omega

First steps into vintage Omega - 2777-1

It has been many months now that I have hunted for my first vintage Omega. Well, strictly speaking I have owned a vintage Omega once before but that was some time ago and before I really became hooked by collecting watches. I have spent quite some time evaluating different possible watches...and I want to say a massive thank you to Art for his time and patience in consistently helping me avoid walking on the inevitable vintage landmine. In the end, I took the plunge.....not on something that is super-rare or indeed something that is in perfect condition. No, I took the plunge on this 2777-1 because I just could not resist its dial. Somewhat larger than many military issues of the era....with such an appealing dial to my eye. The mustard coloured lume, the "T", the arrow, the hands, the British MoD history.....and for 100 times the price I could get a Rolex Milsub.......uhhhhm.
