Hello everyone,
I have been quietly researching watches since my initial inquiry about steel chronographs a few weeks ago.
A reminder...my wife wants to buy me a new wristwatch for my 50th birthday (under $15,000) and I've pretty much decided on a steel chronograph on a steel bracelet. Many of you have provided me with great suggestions in this price range.
While doing my research, I was taken with the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Omega Co-Axial Chronograph (ref. 31130445101002).

It's really a lovely watch that meets all of my requirements and I like the two sub-dial setup. It's from a great brand and this new design could be a bit polarizing to people so won't be seen everywhere.
While I was at my AD looking at the watch over the weekend, I looked at a bunch of other watches and saw a Chopard Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph from 2008 (ref. 158992-3003). Here is a link to a posting by kong on the Chopard forum about this series:
I really love the looks of this watch and since the design of these watches changes every two years, even the non-LE steel watches won't be seen everywhere.
I'm torn between them and since I can't get both, I'm looking for some advice from people that have more experience in the watch world than I do.
Discuss.
