The Ballon Bleu is much more feminine than the Clé in my opinion. Case shape is softer and may be more adapted to female tastes. Same for the protected element of the crown

Cle or Ballon Bleu
thinking about surprising my wife with a watch but can't decide on which model. Appreciate any input from anyone with experience in either model. Thanks in advance. James.
I had the same idea a couple of years ago.
Ballon bleu is more feminine and imho timeless design. Women love it. I have to admit that I considered it overpriced, being only steel and with a simple quartz movement (not even thermocompensated). In the end you pay for brand and design (yes it happens...
I chose a ballon blue for our last anniversary
and she loved it. It is her most precious watch, and she often tells me that she gets lot of comments and compliments from her friends. IMO you can not go wrong with it
I've seen a woman wearing a 40mm cle, very nice
But way, way more ballon bleus around, they are more popular for sure.
