I understand what you say exactly.
What a pity though, for its the marketing aspect that has played a role in defining the product in the end, where I would much rather my watch were defined by a more 'puritan' desire to just make a good no compromise watch, without any such cost cutting/ profit enhancing measure. I'm sure the marketing guys did their homework well, and helped Cartier calculate how much more it would cost them per watch to add a thread to screw in the crown, and another thread to the case tube to mate that with, and then the decision was taken to go for a non screw in crown, saving so much per watch, so much more per 100 watches, etc.
And I'm sure most don't notice or care for the lack of it. As for me though, this was the one modern watch I would have been prepared to buy, and have backed out on for just this one simple reason.
Lets hope they manage to add this feature some day in the future! I'm a buyer again then,

New Calibre!!
It took a few months to decide what I wanted, but it was well worth it. A couple of weeks ago this beauty came in the mail from my favorite AD, a big thank you to George Mayer and Danny Govberg from Govberg Jewelers in Philadelphia, and I can't be happier...

I prefer the new style dial too
It works better with the black dial, more sporty, especially with the bracelet. The black XII in the old dial looks a bit out of place. - SJX

I think the old style works well with the strap, but the new style works better with the bracelet. Govberg has the old style in their case, but I think the XII would be sort of washed out on the bracelet. I've thought about picking up the strap and deploy...
The deployant is complicated to adjust
