How come nobody is talking about one of the best W&W 21 release ?

At least it is for me: Cartier Santos Dumont « numéro 19 »
What I like: amazing salmon dial with applied numerals, Piaget ultra thin caliber, super « poetic » case back engraving, perfect case size, historical significance ( the Santos is the world’s first «pilot » watch), very reasonable pricing (<9000€), limited edition of 500 units.
What I could do without: two tone case, synthetic gem on the crown...
I usually don’t like two tone watches but called the boutique to put my name on it the minute I saw it on Instagram, instant love! Delivery in June.
Honestly speaking I think Cartier had one of the strongest line up this year with the Cloche, Tank and Santos.
I know that a lot of people look down on the brand for some reasons... but compare it with what other houses (even Richemont’s) offer in this price range... ugly logo recycled steel Panerai? Vegan version of the Big Pilot?
It’s all a matter of personal tastes but for me Cartier changed a lot over the last 10 years and now combines very nice designs, strong horological content and great price / quality ratio. Bulgari comes close second with the Octo line, Breitling is doing nice things in the entry level segment, the others are sleeping.
