Cartier Tortue feedback

Hi all, I'm seeking some assistance on a Cartier Tortue watch I bought from a consignment site.

The caseback Cartier script is not one I’ve seen before. And I see a JC stamp but thought those were for London watches?

The Cartier font on the dial looks smaller than one's I'm accustomed to seeing, and I see it says Paris beneath the 6 o’clock. I notice it doesn't have the hidden Cartier in the 10 o'clock or 7 o'clock position.

Thanks in advance!

It looks legit to me, though I am certainly no expert.

It has lots of hallmarks, but this is probably due to the fact that it was imported to England and sold by Cartier in London (the JC hallmark and the adjacent three hallmarks to the right). The three hallmarks below would be the original French ones (the ...

Thanks! I was worried about the unusual Cartier script on the case back. Any idea on what decade it could be from, 1970s? I can post more pictures when I receive the watch in hand.

The early sixties would be my guess...

There is a London date mark at the back (the third hallmark to the right of "JC"). It's difficult to decipher from the photo, but I think it looks like a lowercase "g". That would stand for 1962.

On second thought...

the date mark might be a uppercase "F" which would then stand for 1980. Lets wait for better pics.

Yes I think it looks like an "F" Watch should arrive this Friday and I'll take better pics.

I have been looking for this particular model for quite a while with no luck. Congrats and enjoy. Those secret signature that you mentioned came in a bit later, this vintage one doesn’t have it.

The ones I have seen have P21 movement in them.

Pretty much thin movement by Piguet Cal. 21. Not sure about yours, the P21 usually has 960xxxx on the case back. Earlier Cartier Tank LC extra plat versions used Jager movements.

Vintage deployant clasps have rose gold body but the D end will correspond to the color of the watch, in this case, yellow.

I believe it’s about the alloy property of copper being more suitable for the open and close mechanism.

going by the crown(if original)=1960's more than likely to have a jaeger le coultre movement. what details were on the sellers website for this watch?
