Here it is. After a period of indecisiveness, I was finally able to pick out my next watch. This is not just a purchase, but to me it signifies the start of my love affair with Cartier.
I believe that life is about discovering yourself through experience with the rest of the world. Growing means getting to know ourselves better.
Purity and flare are two concepts that the brand manages to combine effortlessly. This sense of style and panache is what attracts me the most. As much as I admire complications, I tend to gravitate more towards simplicity, so Cartier was an obvious choice that I somehow managed to avoid for the few years I've been collecting.
For my first foray into the parisian jeweler's offerings, I have decided to go with something versatile and iconic: the Santos Medium. A somewhat obvious choice but still, in my opinion, a perfect way to introduce myself to the brand.
The size of this watch is perfect. Its proportions are a call back to a different era of taste that favored understatement and elegance over sheer visual impact. The bracelet could be a piece of jewelery by itself.
This will hopefully be the first of a long series of timepieces from the brand, and an occasion to learn more about its history.
