....for your comments.  You pose a lot of interesting points.  You are right that it may not be ideal for an everyday watch.  I guess what I meant was that the stainless version can be worn in casual situations and the pink gold double coil is more for special occasions. 

I believe that the tubagos coiling is produced by hand, even in the SS watch.  For a hand crafted piece of jewelry it is a good price.  But for a watch it does seem quite pricey, especially for the precious metal versions which price upwards to tens of thousands of dollars. 

Currently, there isn't an option that I know of for a mechanical movement in a Serpenti.  The head of  the watch is pretty small so I would imagine that the movement would have to be pretty small.  I'm sure that pricing also comes into play because it would drive the cost up quite a bit and I think the clientele that this piece would appeal to would not care too much about the movement of the watch.
