Bulgari X Phillips Octo Finissimo Quick Review
Jan 04, 2023,20:57 PM
Here is my first incoming of 2023: The Bulgari X Phillips Octo Finissimo. which I just picked up today and I am happy to share my first impressions and photos with you!

On the 30 November the auction house Phillips announced the BVLGARI x PHILLIPS in association with BACS & RUSSO. I was immediately intriguied by this collaboration. This is the first collaboration using a sector dial and probably also the only one to remove the seconds indication to create a more pure and symmetric layout.
Bracelet and the case is sandblasted titanium, not different to other editions and my Revolution edition Finissimo
The execution of the dial is fantastic, sometimes reminding me of the kindly e-ink system. There is also no BULGARI writing or logo on the dial.
Here a comparison with my 2017 Octo Finissimo Revolution (manual wound)
the watch is powered by the Caliber BVL 138 automatic with micro rotor in platinum
I am very happy about the watch and allocation from Phillips! It is a very limited edition of 50. Is a wonderful iteration of the iconic finissimo with a lot of character.
How do you like it ?
Thanks
Christian

Revolution is still my favourite

Finissimo dial is plain simple in my mind, few exceptions for Tadao 1st gen and other LE. I'm simply not used to it, actually 😅.
Do you own other Finissimo?

I remember your collection is pretty awesome... Like many others here 😎
+1. That Revolution one is awesome!

The pierced dial in the Revolution version is awesome. The manual wind is pretty cool too! Although it's a little hard to wind when the watch is approaching max power reserve. They should make a Revolution version in automatic too! Plus, notice the Revolu...
It's not the most wonderful to wind...

It's somewhat difficult to wind at the end, since there's a lot of resistance. But still, it's a nice watch. It's definitely a good version. Might be hard to sell as most buyers prefer automatic - but hey - seems you're a client at Phillips and they'll pr...
Wear it more often! You might decide you like it more again!

The only fault is the winding. But, I find the design to be one of the nicest Octo Finissimos out there. You'll get a lot of pleasure from the design. And maybe just don't wind it all the way, since the top end is hard to wind. I will say though, the Lang...
absolutely, just not super concerned about wearing it regularly because..

I came to terms that having a largish collection is that inevitably some pieces don't get so much wrist watch and is fine. Now I am all over the Phillips Bulgari! WOW the Zeitwerk..I had a chance to buy on in 2016 but the price seemed high..I regret not g...
The Zeitwerk is definitely amazing...

A friend bought one and used it fairly regularly and had a lot of problems. Everyone I know who used a ZW somewhat regularly eventually had problems with it. So it's definitely a very cool watch, but not a very reliable one. But still, amazing nonetheless...
They're following a new business model...
By: patrick_y : January 5th, 2023-23:05
I actually think the new business model will be successful. I sat down with Herr Schmid and discussed the vision. If you put yourself in Lange's shoes, you can understand a bit more about why they're taking this approach. Keep in mind, these CEOs are data...
Beautiful pics and watch(es)

Loving and preferring the "beauty of simplicity" these days, I prefer the PHILLIPS, although the revolution also is a beauty indeed. Wear it in good health and enjoy the honeymoon. Even though the PHILLIPS has more detail with sector dial, it works wonder...

I was about to congratulate you to the world of OF… until I saw you were already there!! Both quite stunning versions, my lean would be to the Rev as it feels more raw and was much earlier. But the Phillips is not far behind! Two amazing pieces of well en...
