Salvator Mundi
62
Had both in my hands yesterday ...
Yesterday I went to the Breguet boutique in Vienna (triggered by the recent article on Hodinkee).
I was focussing on:
- 3800ST/92/9W6 (Type XX, „Aéronavale”)
- 3810TI/H2/3ZU (Type XXI, Titanium)
They had both models in the shop, and fortunately both in the leather and the bracelet version.
The XXI titanium version I liked most, regarding its tool watch character.
Due to the brushed titanium case and bracelet, it has a negligible bling-bling factor, which is positive.
The steel models (both XX and XXI) in my opinion are a bit too shiny, although the smaller size is favorable for smaller wrists.
However, 42 mm is not too big to wear (I also own a PloProf).
The minute counter on the XX disturbed me too - the smaller ticks count 2 minutes, therefore minutes on the XX are quite hard to read quickly ...
The XX is more purist style, however. And one gets used to little bit of bling-bling.
To decide between these two models will be my project for the next few months ...
