Breguet Marine 5817 on black leather
Good morning!
Over the past year I've been looking for a watch that I will be happy to have on my wrist for many decades to come.
It's been a long but enjoyable search! I found reading reviews and opinions on this forum extremely helpful during the process.
I've finally settled on a Breguet Marine 5817 which I bought pre-owned from New York, and am absolutely delighted with it.
Incredible detailing (particularly the engine turned dial), beautiful case back and an understated elegance that doesn't draw unwanted attention.
I like the rubber strap, but have moved it onto a black leather strap, which I feel makes it look more appropriate for work.
I have not seen many photos of it on leather, so thought I would upload a few, in case these might be helpful others making a similar decision.

Ben, Although rubber straps have their advantages and Breguet issues the Marine with one, I think the leather strap is more fitting of the "Breguet style." Nice upgrade! Dave P.S. I like the large date as well.
Leather strap for breguet marine
Hello! I have same watch,but with black dial. I wish to try also with leather strap. Can you help me with exactly sizes of strap I must to order? A lot of straps in eBay,but I'm not sure what sizes must be. Thanks Oleg

Hi there! It is alligator leather. The piece that attaches to the top of the watch is ~120mm long, the piece that attaches to the bottom is ~65mm long. Both pieces are 20mm wide at the lugs Hope that helps, Ben
