I have seen quite a few times this Breguet type xx 38xx but with this model 3817ST/X2/3ZU I\'m really tempted. Should I resist or go for it ? Comments and pictures from owners are highly appreciated. ...

Go

... love this one, I just think the arabic numerals are too large. Cheers Henrik

I would go for it as well.

I always loved the look of the Type XX, but actually thought, that the proportions at the XXI missed the sweet spot. Except for this model! The color scheme adds also to the attractive factor... 👍🏻😊

Go for it!

Why? -historical model, great heritage. -that dark brown dial is really fantastic -Breguet is always Breguet, people can say everything about it but it remains in my opinion the pinnacle of watchmaking. Best.

I've got a Type XXI and it's been two times in service already under warranty.

Two times the same failure: the minute hand of the chrono does not set back correctly to the twelve o'clock position. Wouldn't buy it again as I've lost confidence in the movement.

Vintage Type XX Options

Love the Type XX. The other option instead of buying a modern Type XX is to go for the original Type XX produced between 1954 & 1970s. There are 2 benefits : 1. Vintage size=about 38mm 2. If you are lucky, you can hopefully still find them around a smilia...

I only wish the vintage Breguets are well priced

unfortunately ever since the Phillips Start-Stop auction, the great vintage chronographs have gone through the roof. now in less sterling quality you possibly can find them in that price spectrum. but for high quality expect to pay double.

I love most Breguet's but I do think the numbers are a bit too large for the overall concept of the timepiece.

Late 90's, AFAIK. [nt]

Really nice and you get to see a guilloched gold rotor on this one.
