Oasis

Bill and his culprits have most certainly made a corner of the Internet an oasis which is unique. I am not aware of anything like it for any interest, hobby, lifestyle or technology even close in combining competence, affection, generosity, diversity, tolerance and tone.Truly impressive and admirable. For an outsider, it means a lot.

The amazing pop-up of Laurent Ferriers the other day, Armanico presenting the very special Fifty Fathoms Pakistani Army, you hands on, with both Techs placing them into perspective with Act I, this corner is truly unique.

As far as stagnation Vs progress goes, I believe there has been a very significant technological (r)evolution in terms of production, design and metalurgy causing a gap which is a challenge to interpret, when combined with classic design language in particular.

Believe you are right in drawing parallels between Code 11.59 and FF Tech, they both require an adjustment of perspective + time to become appreciated, and it might be that embracing them changes how other watches are seen by those bitten by the bug. In my opinion, code 11.59 is very very good design, I somehow believe the initial lukewarm response was partly due to considering them fully developed designs, they probably should have been regarded more as first stepping stones in a long evolutionary line of future marvels.

A journey it is, hopefully yours continues to be a blessful and happy one.
