Those Subarus really had character, big balls needed in case of emergencies like understeer .. only solvable by just putting the throttle down. I know many guy having BIG understeer in a Scooby and keeping their foot off the throttle .. result, frontwheels either hit the kerbs or the car hitting a wall or ending nose down in the ditch.
The Ferrari was another beast, i never sought the limits obviously ... you bin it, you repair (or pay for) it ... which was NOT an option.
