Tough decision, all were crazy.

But IMO the most fun i had in several Golf II GTI, especially the 16V.
Never tried the R5 Turbo.
Had a few go's in the 205 both 1,6 and 1,9 and they were also bonkers.
The Lancia Integrale was out of this world performance wise.
The E30 M3 is really missing here, we had a lot of fast illegal road races doing 250 kph
with that one.
I only had one go in a Clio 16 V, the softer version of the Williams, but generally the Williams is considered the BEST hot hatch of all time.
The Corrado was to me a mythic car, i drove the very first one imported to Belgium, a G60 and was not impressed by it's performance. But the car was so cool you could only love it
. Later i tried several 1,8 an 2,0 16V versions which were pretty fast and the 2,9 VR6 was a real beast, an amazingly fast car, i still doubt the 190 hp .. it felt more like 220+.
Another one not on this list is the also very mythic Golf Rally with it's 4WD and G60 engine. It had a completely different approach than the Corardo G60 and the sound was truly amazing. Later on we had the car mapped combined with another pulley for the 'G-lader' .. and the original 160 hp (that felt like 130 hp) went up to 190 hp and it felt like 250 hp.
The Fiat Uno Turbo was also a very tunable car, a guy from my class owned one and told me it easily reached 240 kph .... after tuning
.
I never tried the Escorts (XR3i / RS Turbo / RS Cosworth) myself but i once tried to follow a 4WD Sierra Bosworth with my 90 hp VW Jetta ... in the wet. The chase took a few hundred meters and then i lost track of it .. obviously.
These days i have to be happy with a mixture of affordable hot hatches:
The 205 XS 85 hp 'poor man's GTI' .... weighing 810 kilos
The Clio 3 RS 201 hp which is also considered as one of the all time greats .... 1240 kilos, the plan for this car is to upgrade it in the coming years ... less weight, a bit more power and traction.
The brand-new 1460 kilo heavyweight Megane RS 280 hp.
Cars are soo much faster these days and speeds are soo much lower these days .... one day i'll probably end up buying a very slow electric car or preferably a petrol powered one if it's still allowed.
