This is the car that was my screensaver/desktop background for years.
It was at that time something most definitely out of reach, a true dream car. My picture was of the Phoenix Yellow.
There are a couple of these parked in my garage now, not mine, other’s cars. And one on the street nearby my home.
I keep watching the auctions, the for sale postings and wondering. But the Phoenix Yellow rarely comes up.
Of course, I had some of this same fun with my Z4M Coupe and so I did get some of that experience. But the M3 will always be the one.
Should I sell a watch or two and get the car? Do I need another car? Important questions you have now brought front of mind again this cold Monday morning.
Perhaps Santa Claus will surprise me. I still believe !

This brand hit their pinnacle many years ago, at least for drivers who crave character and emotional machines. Sadly, they don't make new cars with such attributes. I guess the same can be said for many other brands too.
I stopped looking at BMW when they moved from the E chassis.

I'm not surprised by the price of the low miles car on BaT. They just do not make cars like this anymore. I do have bias towards my Blackwing being the closest thing available, but surely in a much heavier, brutish package.
Yep - sadly, BMW will likely not make anything like it again.

The Z4M coupes are terrific as well. Amazing styling (still fresh, IMO) and lightweight.
