The SLS rear spoiler...

is actually functional, because there is 8kg of downforce in the back.  The front end is where is the lift is happening (all 41kg lift @ 124mph).  Getting actual front downforce is very difficult because that's where the wind hits the car first.  It's always tricky to balance between usability (ie. having a front nose that isn't too low so that it would scrape everything) vs. reducing front lift.

On most mid-engine cars, getting a reasonable rear downforce isn't too difficult because most of them have flat underside with ground effect.  This, combined with a well engineered rear diffuser + spoiler, will generate a good amount of downforce in the back.  On the 458 and Aventador, they both produced front lift as well.  It's only the Mclaren that has a small front downforce (2kg front downforce) and the Porsche GT3RS isn't too bad either (at 2kg front lift).
