The regenerative braking does have different levels on BMW i4 models.  And I can tell you, in my experience, you do get used to the deceleration and you do adapt to it by letting off the gas pedal much slower.

#2, Regarding idling forward (aka creep forward); in my Tesla I can adjust the creep forward mode from on or off.  However, I'm used to both cars that creep and cars that don't creep (the race cars don't creep, but my street cars which are automatic transmission cars do creep), so I have turned creep off on my Tesla.  I don't know if they have such a setting in the BMW.  But it's something that I'm accustomed to; when I drive automatic transmission cars, the creep forward doesn't surprise me.  And the lack of creep on the race cars doesn't surprise me neither.  The jerking forward isn't good though!  Throttle mapping and calibration is very important!

Overall, I'm really happy with the Tesla gas pedal in terms of its calibration and mapping.  Just wished it was hinged on the ground (it's hinged up top), as ground-hinged pedals allow a more precise level of control.
