The bike I wanted to buy in 1993 ... but I had to wait until 2024. Now I will have to wait until 2025 to have a go ! Note: Several of my friends had a Supersport 600/750/900 so I had a lot of rides on them back then, but this time it will be my bike I'm t...  

I will try to enjoy as much as I can, let's hope the rain will finally stop after 15 months non-stop :-( The safe riding part is what worries me more though, I'll do the best I can.

These bikes have loads of character, I know you know since I know you had one as you just told me so I would know. That's why I know ;-)

The 851 was the first water-cooled 4 valve (`4 per cylinder) engined Ducati. Also the first Ducati Superbike, after that came the 888, 916, 996, 998, 999 ... and so on. My Supersport is a very simple 2 valve air-oil cooled bike, also loaded with character... 

I love your bike, and I am sure its sound and character are tops! I also find the mechanical sounds of the 1098 engine cannot be really replicated any more. These older Ducs are amazing. Enjoy!!

.. I remember being a real beast but still manageable, the 848 was probably equally fast ( at least I reached higher speeds on country roads) but less brutal. The 1198 I once tried was totally crazy. When the Panigale 1199 with the superquadro engine came...  

I also think the 1098 had hit that soft spot of being amazing fast, docile, mechanical/brut, and still a no gizmos/unfiltered diamond. But oh well, we are still talking about some great bikes no matter which. Enjoy your new Amore!

Ride carefully and wear a helmet!!

The only time I didn't wore a helmet was in Rimini, riding my Bimota. The carabinieri looked at me and turned their heads away lol. A helmet is the least one has to wear on a bike, I even bought brand-new Dainese gear for the occasion, boots, gloves, pant... 

I have several lying around, also bought brand-new Dainese gear ... I will have to do an inventory update as I have stuff lying around all over the 600 square meter barn .

.. is in my opinion the best all-round bike ever built. I had the pleasure riding it on several occasions, it has the best comfort/sportiness combination. Even better than the Multistradas !

.. I often switched between the Japanese and Italian stallions. 93 CBR 600f2 93 Fireblade YZF750 GSX-R 1100 Bimota YB9 (Yamaha 600) Bimota SB6 (Suzuki 1100) YZF 600 & 1000 Thundercat and Thunderace VFR 750 F Supersport 400/600/750/900 (tried them all) New...  

Always thought the Bimota was super cool…rode the BMW…agree🤷🏻‍♂️…rode a number of Yamaha 2 strokes all the way back to the rd’s I’m driving Jet Skis now…looking to have a racing ski custom next year…100 mph plus… ...  

... equals 300 mph on land LOL
