The only time I didn't wore a helmet was in Rimini, riding my Bimota. The carabinieri looked at me and turned their heads away lol.
A helmet is the least one has to wear on a bike, I even bought brand-new Dainese gear for the occasion, boots, gloves, pants, jacket.

I love your bike, and I am sure its sound and character are tops! I also find the mechanical sounds of the 1098 engine cannot be really replicated any more. These older Ducs are amazing. Enjoy!!

I also think the 1098 had hit that soft spot of being amazing fast, docile, mechanical/brut, and still a no gizmos/unfiltered diamond. But oh well, we are still talking about some great bikes no matter which. Enjoy your new Amore!

I have several lying around, also bought brand-new Dainese gear ... I will have to do an inventory update as I have stuff lying around all over the 600 square meter barn .
The recent 950 Supersport ..
.. is in my opinion the best all-round bike ever built. I had the pleasure riding it on several occasions, it has the best comfort/sportiness combination. Even better than the Multistradas !
