Pictures of the new 3rd generation Porsche Cayenne
The 3rd generation Porsche Cayenne will make its debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. 2 models will be revealed - the Cayenne ($65,700) and Cayenne S ($82,900).
The Porsche Cayenne houses a 3.0L single turbo V6 with 340 hp which goes from 0-60 in 5.9 secs while the Cayenne S houses a 2.9L twin turbo V6 with 440 hp with a 0-60 in 4.9 secs.
Slight aesthetic exterior changes so not a drastic change from the 2nd generation Cayenne. Overall, nice improvement of the interior with the new 12.3" touchscreen console and the removal of all the "busy" switches which made the console next to the shifter look like a complicated airplane cockpit.

I really like nice and new interiors but...
a little worry on the new electronics integration and reliability. When the Panamera first came out with the new interior and electronics, the service centers were busy. If the exterior is not much different, I'm keeping my good old 2014 V8 with 34k miles...

I bought my wife a 2017 model.
I would rather wait for the second year of production for two reasons, first the always have a few kinks they fix and second sometimes they have an engine change in year two. I like the last year of production because it is the best of that run.
Good choice....I bought mine 3+ years ago, only a minor glitch in the rear hatch not shutting fully, intermittent problem.
No wonder Porsche's JD Power ratings are great now. Just test drove the G63 AMG last week, huge differences in the way it handles, too heavy and feels slow....no sure if I will ever switch from the Porsche.

Biggest problem is the braking.
The braking on all the larger Mercedes-Benz SUVs including the AMG models is a bit lackluster. And they wear quickly. No more drilled rotors on SUVs Mercedes!
Yes, I don't get that feel of confidence but maybe it's just not getting used to it...
One test drive might not be enough....anyway, I still like the Cayenne S for now.

All of the Mercedes-Benz vehicles I've gotten have been the last ones of their model years and they've been relatively reliable. I did like the 2015 Cayenne Turbo I got to drive for a night. Great car. And good brakes.

I can only say it takes a while to adjust my eyes to like the shape of the G. It might be mistaken for a jeep, lol....boxy, old style... You can tell I'm more of a modern style person, but things can change 😬

There seems to be quite a bit of strong dislike, bordering on hate, for SUV's from a (large) minority, which is fascinating in a way...And for me personally, I would take a well engineered, well made SUV over a La Bamba most of the time...just my personal...

I have a SUV along with various other cars and find the SUV a perfect car to travel with the family especially if you have an infant. Makes strapping in and out of the infant much easier and faster due to the higher elevation of the car.
