My lesson in patience

This was my car of choice in 1963 -I was in the Air Force stationed at a radio relay site about 15 kilometers from Paris.
The AF really didn’t want us to have cars ( too many accidents created work for the squadron dealing with French civilians) They couldn’t say no cars but, the made the acquisition difficult -lots of paperwork -it took 6 months or so to get a purchase approval.
A new MGB with wire wheels (no radio) was $2275 but, there was a waiting list months long -I settled for a Renault Caravelle -available immediately.
Week and a half later the dealer called me -as he had a cancellation and had a MGB for me.
Yikes -it still hurts every time I see one
-probably has helped me a bit in the watch hobby in the patience department
