I can only assume the air kit is doing the job as it should since it takes air from in front of the radiator and not from the engine compartment as it did before.

 

The only time mine would ever overheat was when the carbs were out of adjustment, which caused excess fuel to burn off in the headers. The headers would get cherry red -- never a good thing. That added a lot of heat around the engine. But once the carbs are correctly adjusted, no problems with overheating. SU carbs are incredibly simple in design and are easy to adjust and keep in sync although many owners don't understand them.


I made the fairing behind the seats myself out of fiberglass. It's hinged at the front so it can lift for access to the trunk. I don't have any photos of it open but these show the fairing better. The hinges are mounted where the original convertible top frame was mounted.
