Let me tell you a little story
When I was young, out of college 5 years, I worked in a bicycle shop for a guy named Bill Holland (shown below at left, cooling his ear). We sold custom racing and touring bikes, and used a number of custom framebuilders. One named Dana had orders for half a dozen frames, including my tandem (shown below center, with flat!). Dana had fallen behind on his deliveries. I called and sent letters (pre-Internet) and encouraged him to get cracking.
He wrote back an extended excuse letter which included describing in detail a day where he was having a temper tantrum, threw a bike fork onto the ground, and it bouncing up, hitting a rack of freshly painted frames, which toppled over and they all clattered and banged against each other, scratching, denting and ruining them all. He finished with this memorable quote:
AT THIS POINT, BASIC PSYCHOLOGICAL SURVIVAL IS MY PRIMARY CONCERN
Today, in Covid-land that statement is even more true== BASIC PSYCHOLOGICAL SURVIVAL IS OUR PRIMARY CONCERN,
So I'll take a Thunderbird Sports Roadster today over the Volt or the (rumored/future) Tesla Roadster...
PS - the "old" Tesla roadster isn't bad though
When you drive a big American convertible it's an attitude adjustment that says
"All is well in the world, who can argue with this?" and "If I hit someone, or they hit me, I won't even notice ... the back end is still in the next county".
As shown here, cruising with my brothers in a red (not pink) Cadillac.
