This festive shot (sadly the weather is not playing festive ball outside) does have an automotive link, can anyone tell me what it is? There is no prize other than a doff of my virtual cap to you. Anyone else love these motoring icons from the 1920s?...

..since this French master of art deco (and art nouveau prior to that), and who designed these, is not well represented there especially since the factory where these were produced in C.1928 is less than 2 hours drive away. These were the ultimate 'boucho...  

I know that they were introduced 3rd Feb 1928, made of clear and satinised glass, signed on the right hand side "R Lalique" if produced up to May 5, 1945 and out of production now. Apparently the production code was 1140. Lots of reproductions exist now. ... 

..TS1987, cap doffed your way. The repros of the Tete de Paon were by the current Lalique company themselves and easily distinguishable from the originals (though that did not stop some crooks trying to re-sign them and pass them off as genuine R. Lalique...

A few years ago we were in Jersey and came into this tiny church which was decorated with Lalique glass inside. St. Matthew's is its name. Have you been there? Cazalea ...

Spot on Patrick, Rene Lalique (1860-1945) Funny you should mention the Skykes Spirit of Ecstasy and Bugatti Elephant since the modern Lalique factory have reproduced both of these... In 1994, 200 examples of the winged lady.. and in 2015 a limited run of ...
