I was amazed how quickly ...

 


... both the Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86 appeared on our roads. I see a few more of the Toyotas at the moment, and actually prefer the front end design of the 86 with the more open grill and vertical driving lights. But it just seems weird to me to have such obvious Subaru engineering 'trademarks', such as the 2L boxer engine, in a Toyota. I'd be driving the BRZ for that reason. But I can understand why Toyota needs a successful 'sports' car again. They have not really filled that niche for a few years.
