I think Porsche ...

... is and has always been at a level on its own, pricewise cheaper than a Ferrari or Lambo (except for some limited run models) ... .

Porsche has always had a high level of finish ... okay a Maserati had a far nicer interior but a Ferrari-interior wasn't that much better, those 328's also had a lot of cheap plastic smile ... The strong Porsche-point has always been reliability, not counting the 996 and 997 if you drive them really hard, check out the secondhand market and you'll see what i mean (new engine fitted here, new engine fitted there ... and so on).

I agree that they were underpowered compared to the Italian stallions back in the sixties and early seventies, offcourse with the 911 Turbo they were at the same level for sure ... so as you state the turning point was 1976 smile ...

These days i don't really understand Porsche anymore ... it is just a big company selling as much cars as they can ... like these ...

smile ... okay it's a beast to drive ... but it's soooo ugly even without the camouflage or the snow ...

read this today: "the really surprising thing is just how few sports cars Porsche now sells - of the nearly 13,000 cars it built in November just a smidge over 2,000 were 911s. And just 1,200 were Boxsters. "

How many of these GT3's are being made ? Do they really make one Euro profit on a car like this ? I don't think so .... but true Purists drive these ...

... or these .... on blue wheels fitted with winter tires ...

... so the NEXT question is, How long will they be making true sportscars ???
