In practice performance will deteriorate beyond a certain wear level and you will not get the same braking or wet performance. But that’s not just a Michelin issue - as you say, no worn tire will perform as well as when it was new.

I drove a lot with Michelins, which where tough. Bought two winter Continentals which does delete snow in front, and i end up with 4 Good years which upgrade the driving experience. My favorite three which i will put on any car from Toyota, BMW, Porsche, ...
