I have fond memories of a VW Scirocco a cousin lent me in Salzburg...
I took it to Munich; the muffler fell off somewhere along the way and I didn't know to stop and pick it up, dumb kid that I was.
VW definitely made / makes some very down to earth fun but practical cars!
The WanderingPurist and a local Purist went for a drive to put some miles on his new CGT Speed; I heard they hit 160 easily on some straight stretches...Ah, the joys of big power!

Hi, Nilo, I believe traffic laws are necessary for our safety and sanity (rules and laws in general ...) But very often I have to suspect many of them, and their enforcement, is mainly revenue generators for the government disguised as safety guidelines.....
Here is not a matter of "suspect" ...
It's a fact. Most common cheat is to drop, from 60 to 40 and hide a speed camera. To me this negates the security because one needs to divide the driving attention between the road and the speed cameras. But, despite of that, life goes on. Cheers, Nilo
